<span class="style1" style="text-align: justify;">Govt. J. Yaganandam Chhattisgarh College, Raipur :-</span><span style="text-align: justify;">  Govt. J. Yoganandam Chhattisgarh College is one of the premier institution of the new born state of Chhattisgarh. It was late Shri J. Yoganandam who had taken a benevolent and purposeful initiative and had given the Chhattisgarh College as a gift to the region. The College was established on 16th July 1938. Before 1938, this region of erstwhile state of Madhya Pradesh was devoid of any institution to promote higher education. The establishment of this College accentuated the educational environment and thus removed the barrenness in the field of higher education. The College was established under the stewardship of Late Dr. J. Yoganandam, who was the founder Principal of the college. The College would not have taken shape but for the donation of Rs. 1 Lakh by Shri Kamta Prasad, the Vice President of the Chhattisgarh Educational Society.</span><div><p align="justify" valign="Top" class="inputtextTd" style="margin: 1em 0px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 2px; border: 0px solid rgb(102, 102, 102); width: 700px;">The College which started with only ten students was in no time flooded with students. During this period, it was also the center of nationalistic movement for the freedom fighters. The students of this College exhibited their valour in the freedom struggle</p><p align="justify" valign="Top" class="inputtextTd" style="margin: 1em 0px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 2px; border: 0px solid rgb(102, 102, 102); width: 700px;">In 1942, many students of the college acknowledged their participation in the Quit India Movement. There were many freedom fighters who are still revered today. Some of the prominent person like Shri Sudhir Mukherjee, Ranvir Singh Shastri, Shri Kamal Narayan Sharma actively participated in the freedom movement..</p></div>
